Crowns and Bridges

Attractive, functional, durable dental restorations

If you have chipped, cracked or damaged teeth, a crown or bridge could be your solution to a healthy smile.

What is a dental crown?

A crown is essentially a protected ‘cap’ for chipped, cracked, or brittle teeth. These ‘caps’ are custom molded and permanently bonded to your damaged tooth to provide strength and restore beauty to your smile. A crown is a great solution for functionality as well as creating a bright, healthy smile. It can be a great treatment if you have:

  • Worn fillings
  • Large cracks
  • Large cavities
  • Undergone extensive root canal treatment

What's involved in receiving a crown?

First of all, the dentist will take some x-rays to evaluate your teeth in detail and decide on a treatment option. If it’s decided that a crown is the best treatment option, your tooth will be shaped and prepared. The dentist will then take an impression of your tooth and model the crown from this mold. Once your crown is created within our in-house dental laboratory, the crown will be fitted in place and secured with a permanent bonding solution. These can last up to ten years with good care!

What is a dental bridge?

A dental bridge is a suitable option if you are missing one or multiple teeth. A bridge can fill a gap where up to four teeth have been missing. The bridge anchors onto the teeth on either side and will look and act like your natural teeth.

What's involved in receiving a bridge?

The process of receiving your dental bridge will generally consist of reshaping the anchor teeth so they are suitable for the dental crowns to sit over. Our elite dentists will then take an impression of your smile and use this to create your bridge from our on-site laboratory. Once complete we will then fit the bridge over your remaining teeth to fill the gap and make sure it is comfortable for you prior to cementing it into place.
