The Child Dental Benefits Scheme has replaced the previous Teen Dental Vouchers – and if your child qualifies they are eligible for $1000 worth of approved dental care over two years at Australia Fair Dental located in Southport.
Whilst most parents of children will receive notification of their eligibility, children aged 2-17 meet the requirements of the Child Dental Benefits Scheme if they qualify for the Family Tax Benefit A or receive any of the following payments:
- ABSTUDY
- Youth Allowance
- Parenting Payment
- Disability Support Pension
- Special Benefit
- Carer Payment
- Double Orphan Pension
- Veteran’s Children Education Scheme, if the child is 16 or over
- Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act Education and Training Scheme, if the child is 16 or over
Over a two year period all eligible children will be able to take advantage of $1000 worth of approved dental treatments such as:
- General dental check-ups
- In practice X-rays
- Cleaning services
- Fissure sealants
- Extractions
- Partial dentures
- Fillings
- IV sedation (claimable one every 12 month period)
- Nitrous oxide (children’s dental anxiety treatment)
Many patients may be concerned that there may be hidden fees associated with this scheme, and at Australia Fair Dental we are pleased to inform our patients that there will be no gap to pay if they select approved dental treatments within their $1000 provisions. The only time fees will be charged is if children exceed their $1000 budget. While we can inform you of your balance when you visit us, you can also check your balance by phoning Human Services on 132 150.
